Dream it. Believe it. Achieve it!
Holy Chocolate Balls!?!? We have had an amazing response to the Purdy's fundraiser! We are tallying the numbers and will post the results soon. So, please stay tuned!
However, before you go - we would like to say thank-you for all your support! We are truly humbled by the response and can guarantee the money raised will make such a positive impact on our children's educational experience here at Jennie Elliott.
Also, we could not have put on such a memorable fundraiser without the tireless volunteers. We would like to say a special thank-you Joanne Cook and her team of volunteers! The assembly organized by Katie McBeath and the Grade 5's was such fun. We really appreciate you taking the time to make this such a memorable experience. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!
Our sweet fundraiser for Purdy's Chocolate launched on November 14th! Details of the fundraiser were sent home in your child's agenda (or click on This is Going to be FUN Letter below). You have until November 25, so get selling!

Fundraising will launch soon and your kids will more than likely come home excited about chocolate! (who wouldn’t be?)
Our first official School Council fundraiser will run November 14 - 25. It’s going to be sweet, energetic and a lot of fun! Purdy’s chocolates will be arriving just in time for the holiday season, and there are awesome prizes and incentives for classrooms, teachers, individuals and parents! Your child will come home with more detail on November 14th and we’ll be corresponding with you (via email) throughout the campaign.
It’s because of these initiatives and the amazing support from our parents that we can give back to our school. Fundraising goes toward technology, PE Equipment, basic classroom and art supplies and the library (to name a few). Your support means everything, so thank you!!!
Thank you to everyone who came out to the September Social and Picnic! It was great to see kids and parents mingling and having fun. The weather held thankfully and the donuts were a hit!
A big thank you to parent T. Nikolaou for coordinating the children and parent volunteers on Picture Day in early October and for making a rather epic kind of day go so smoothly!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our School Council website! Please go to www.jennieelliott.ca for event updates, meeting agendas and minutes, links to community resources and much, much more. We hope for the website to become a "go-to" for parents who are looking for information about school-related activities. A special thank you to our School Council peers at Ecole Banff Trail for sharing the idea with us, and a very special thank you to our School Council Co-Chair, Sarah Smith, for putting our website together. (you have obviously found the website
Fundraising within our school community pays for many of the extra opportunities, experiences and events that our children have at Jennie Elliott - everything from iPads, computers and library books to Phys. Ed equipment, supplies in the classrooms and special in-school residencies. School council is responsible for this fundraising and we want to take a few moments to share this year's plan with you. Our fundraising is a combination of ongoing initiatives - Fun Lunches (www.healthyhunger.ca) and Mabel's Labels (you can order labels under the school's name and Jennie Elliott gets a percentage of the order, go to http://mabelslabels.com/support-a-fundraiser and select Jennie Elliott School), a casino night (this is a large revenue builder for the school typically yielding approximately $68, 000. Each school is allowed to participate in a casino once every 18 months and our next scheduled casino is November 24th and 25th, 2016), two school spirit events (Gingerbread Night on December 1st and the Family Dance in February 2017), and three sales campaigns over the course of the year (this school year we will be selling Purdy's Chocolates in November, Perogies and Sausage in March and Cookbooks and Coffee/Tea in May). The school community's support and participation in fundraising from volunteering at events to purchasing products is much appreciated and directly pg. 9 impacts and improves the experience and opportunities your children have in their day to day lives at school. Thank you for your support!
Please join us for the next School Council meeting on Monday, November 21th at 7:00 pm in the school library. Stay tuned for Purdy's chocolate sales (just in time for the Holiday and gift-giving season!) in November, and looking forward to seeing everyone at Gingerbread Night on Thursday, December 1st!
